Cinnamon Buns are my unbeatable favourite. On October 4th, the swedes celebrate the Cinnamon bun Day and so do I. It´s a must and if I had to choose a single pastry, it would be cinnamon bun . I would take it to a desert island and I would certainly order a cinnamon bun as my last meal.
I’m not particularly afraid of anything … except for baking. It’s always a nervous challenge for me and my partner always finds something else to do, as far away from the kitchen as possible, when I’m mixing batters and doughs and try to bake some yummy pastries.
When I was about ten years old (1973), I ALWAYS had a toasted loaf of syrup loaf “Skogaholmslimpa” with butter and a some Swedish Kalles caviar when I got home from school. It was my favorite sandwich all categories.
I’ve tried making sourdough once before, but even though I nursed them tenderly, they died and since then I have not tried again. Mourned probably a tad .
Sweden is very dark in the wintertime, but the tradition of Lucia, brings back the light come and from now on, it´s only getting lighter.
